Day Services are provided for people with disabilities. Individual programmes of support are prepared in consultation with each person, the aim being to enable people to attain the highest level of independence appropriate to them. Many attend Inspire in order to enable a period of respite for a carer whilst at the same time availing themselves of the facilities. Generally service users attend as part of a package of care organised by a care manager with the London of Bexley. As a result close liaison exists between Day Service Officers (DSOs) and care management teams. DSOs undertake an important role in co-ordinating the range of activities available and overseeing the individual care plans. They are assisted by Personal Assistants (PAS) who attend to the individual, personal requirements of those attending. Attendance ranges from 1 day to 4 days per week. For those who are unable to travel independently, Bexley Transport Services, provide transport to and from home.

Respite accommodation
An important resource are two “respite” properties which are available to people who may require adapted accommodation for a short period. The properties are useful when a carer may need to take a holiday or when a person with a disability leaves hospital and requires specific accommodation as part of their rehabilitation programme.
