Formed in March 2005 Inspire Community Trust (Inspire) has progressed rapidly and effectively to improve and develop facilities for people in Bexley. The valued partnership with the London Borough of Bexley has made this possible through a funding arrangement which has enabled continuity and the 
opportunity to plan for the future.
The social care sector must look to the future and plan services appropriate to the needs and expectations of people in the community. This will be possible with careful attention to available resources and the development of effective partnerships with local authorities, health trusts and the voluntary sector.
A wide range of services are provided from the Independent Living Centre (ILC) at Slade Green. The Centre is also the hub of community provision for a wide range of services available to people with a disability or sensory impairment.. The main Centre offers a range of services planned and designed to meet the needs of the service users. Inspire works in partnership with number of voluntary organisations, serving particular specialist needs, some of which are based at the ILC. Inspire services are accessible by all communities and individuals living in the area of service.
Inspire is poised to meet the challenges of the future in helping people to make the own choices regarding service delivery. The developing Inspire Independent Living Centre is poised to introduce an improved equipment resource in order that specialist equipment for people with disabilities and who have sensory impairments be available for inspection, trial , purchase or issue. Co-operation with the London Borough of Bexley and the Bexley Care Trust will continue with a view to service development.
We shall be seeking to increase the range of services similar to our partnership with the London Borough of Bromley where Inspire provides the Direct payments Service.. Partnerships with local authorities and organisations in the private sector are key and enable Inspire to offer and co-operate in delivering high quality services.
